Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
1. Overview
Younan Digital ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website younandigital.co.uk. We believe in minimal data collection and straightforward practices. This Privacy Policy details how we manage personal data when you interact with our website, request a website preview, or contract our web design and maintenance services. If you are a business owner who connects Google Calendar to our booking system, section 8 explains what that involves.
2. No Tracking Cookies
We do not use advertising cookies, third-party analytics trackers, behavioral trackers, or marketing pixels on this website. When you browse our website, we do not store tracking cookies on your device or follow you across the internet.
3. Information We Receive
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when requesting a preview, communicating with us, or purchasing a service plan:
- Contact Details: Your name, phone/WhatsApp number, and email address.
- Business Details: Business name, trade category, town or region, and links to existing websites or social profiles.
- Media Files: Any logos, brand palettes, or photographs you provide for your website build.
- Billing Information: Payments are processed directly through Stripe. Your payment card details are collected directly by Stripe under PCI-DSS standards; Younan Digital never stores or accesses full credit or debit card numbers.
- If you connect Google Calendar, see section 8.
4. How Your Information Is Used
Any details you provide are used strictly to:
- Generate your custom interactive website preview.
- Communicate with you regarding revisions, project scope, and launch logistics.
- Process subscription billing and deliver contracted website hosting and maintenance.
We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your contact details with external marketers, brokers, or unrelated third parties.
5. Data Roles (Controller vs. Processor)
Younan Digital as Data Controller: For individuals visiting younandigital.co.uk or communicating with us directly, Younan Digital acts as a Data Controller under UK data protection law.
Younan Digital as Data Processor: For live websites designed, hosted, or managed for our business clients, the client acts as the Data Controller for their website end-users (such as customer enquiries submitted via website contact forms). Younan Digital acts strictly as a Data Processor, handling form routing and server logs only on documented instructions from the client.
6. Data Retention & Security
We keep your communication records and project assets only for as long as necessary to provide your preview or manage your live website. We apply reasonable technical safeguards to prevent unauthorized access or accidental loss of client-supplied files.
Following cancellation of a hosted subscription, server staging files and client database backups are retained for thirty (30) calendar days before permanent deletion.
7. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, request corrections to inaccurate records, or request complete deletion of your submitted information at any time. If you have connected Google Calendar, you can withdraw that access at any time using the Disconnect button on the connect page or from your Google Account's permissions page.
8. Google Calendar connection (Younan Digital Bookings)
Some of our clients use Younan Digital Bookings, the booking system we build into their websites. A business owner can choose to connect their own Google Calendar. This section explains what that connection does. It applies only to business owners who connect a calendar. Customers who make a booking never connect a Google account.
What we access
- Free/busy times (always, once connected). We see when your primary Google Calendar is busy: start and end times only. We cannot see event titles, descriptions, locations or guests.
- Booking copies (only if you tick “Also copy bookings into my calendar”). We create, update and delete copies of your bookings in your primary calendar. We only touch events our system created. We do not read or change any of your other events.
- We do not ask Google for your name, email address, contacts or any other Google data.
How we use it
- Busy times are used only to hide booking slots that clash with your own appointments. We use them while working out which slots to show and do not store them.
- Booking copies exist only so you can see your bookings in your own calendar. We keep the ID of each copy so we can update or remove it if the booking changes.
- We do not use Google data for advertising or profiling, and we do not use it to create, train or improve any AI or machine-learning model.
Who we share it with
Nobody. We do not sell, rent or pass Google data to anyone, unless the law requires it.
How we store and protect it
- Your connection uses a Google access token. We store it encrypted (AES-256-GCM) in a database on our own server, hosted in the UK/EU.
- Tokens are never put in spreadsheets, logs or emails.
- No one at Younan Digital reads your calendar data. The one exception: if you ask us for help with your connection and give us your permission in writing, we may look at what is needed to fix the problem.
How long we keep it, and how to remove it
- We keep your token only while your calendar is connected. Every hour we check that the connection still works; if it stops working we email you so you can reconnect.
- To disconnect, use the “Disconnect” button on the connect page (younandigital.co.uk/connect-calendar.html). That revokes our access with Google and removes the token from our system.
- You can also remove access at any time from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Our access stops working immediately and the unusable token is removed from our system.
- Booking copies already in your calendar are your events and stay there. You can delete them in Google Calendar.
- If you disconnect, your booking page keeps working. Slots are then worked out from your bookings calendar alone.
Google API Services User Data Policy
The use of information received from Google Workspace scopes will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
